Addressing socio-economic issues impacting migration affected communities
About Us
To strengthen migrant, refugee and asylum seekers integration and social cohesion among populations in vulnerable situations, the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in collaboration with the International Organization for Migration (IOM), Office of the High Commission for Human Rights (OHCHR), United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) and UN Women have implemented the United Nations Pilot Project for Strengthening Migrant Integration and Social Cohesion through Stakeholders’ Engagement, Socio-Economic Activities and Countering Anti- Migrant Narratives in South Africa.
The project is funded through the United Nations Migration Multi-Partner Trust Fund (MPTF), a UN financing mechanism called for by the Global Compact on Migration (GCM), adopted by the General Assembly in December 2018, to support UN Member States in the implementation of the GCM.
